In summer and strong sunlight the leaves are almost black, but in winter they are dark purple green. Very showy bright yellow flower spikes contrast well with the foliage. Plants will form clumps up to 1 metre tall and wide. It is more tolerant of full sun than many other Aeoniums and is a great accent plant.
Perfect for unirrigated areas or in large pots. Useful as a fire retardant barrier.
