This is a small branched plant with fiery-red and yellow foliage that gives it it's name. In winter, if it has enough water the foliage will be lime green which is also attractive. The colour improves with plenty of sun and drought stress. Flowers are typical Crassula star-like and tiny, delicate yellow, on the end of long spikes at the end of summer. This species is monocarpic so it dies after flowering but any offsets will easily take in the surrounding soil, particularly if there is a gravel mulch.
