Summer flowering hybrid. One of the toughest plants, surviving with no extra water and on poor soil or just rocks. Great as a ground cover on an embankment or along a wall, particularly when it hangs down. Green foliage in winter turning red in summer with tall red flowers in early summer, spectacular when planted en-masse as ground cover. A good full sun dry area ground cover but will grow equally well with some shade.
